Crews | Cinematography, Edit & Art Direction
Crews is an independent Brazilian skateboarding film born from the collaboration between two crews: Quartzvids and Namissão. Shot over four years across cities like São Paulo, Brasília, Fortaleza, Barcelona, and Copenhagen, the project stands as an urban cultural manifesto. Featuring several sequences captured on authentic Super 8 film, it actively resists the wave of disposable media to keep the raw tradition of full-length skate videos alive.
My involvement spanned the entire production pipeline. Beyond acting as a camera operator to film several key lines on the streets, I took charge of the film's structural edit, art direction, and motion design. Deeply analyzing references from 411VM and Alien Workshop, my technical goal was to engineer a visual package that seamlessly integrates with the Super 8 footage, creating a dynamic edit that authentically emulates the gritty, analog aesthetic of the 90s golden era.
